ZCS Implements the DosHub Solution at Policlinico Tor Vergata

Zucchetti Centro Sistemi (ZCS), through its ZCS Healthcare business unit, has implemented at the Policlinico Tor Vergata the first system in Italy for the automated management of the distribution and collection of dosimeters for healthcare personnel exposed to ionizing radiation.

The system, named DosHub, enables the hospital staff to independently manage the pickup and return of dosimeters via automated distribution lockers, thus eliminating the need for designated delegates. This allows for a reduction and optimization of the delivery and return times of the dosimeters, and consequently a decrease in the number of unreturned and/or lost devices, achieving a dual objective: a significant reduction in the costs borne by the client company due to lost and/or unreturned dosimeters, and a significant increase in the number of dosimeters analyzed and processed, resulting in a substantial improvement in the ability to determine staff exposure levels.

This mechanism not only simplifies operational flow, but also ensures complete digital traceability of every movement, guaranteeing that the entire process is monitored in real time with the highest precision.

DosHub was born from the synergy between ZCS Healthcare and ZCS Automation: this collaboration combined healthcare sector expertise with advanced automation technology; the project was carried out in collaboration with L.B. Servizi per le Aziende Srl, a laboratory accredited by the Italian Accreditation Body Accredia and a provider of personal and environmental dosimeters, including analysis services.

Vio also emphasized that the main goal of the solution is "to enhance safety and simplify processes for healthcare personnel," a milestone that allows workers to focus on their job without concerns related to manual dosimeter management.
